Hello.
I strongly oppose the purchase of the ExpressVote XL voting machine. My name is ________ & I live in ___________. Suffolk County has two swing congressional districts that could change the balance of power in congress, so I want to have confidence that your voting system is secure and accurate. I have no confidence in the ExpressVote XL.
The ExpressVote XL has performed poorly in the field. It has counted the votes incorrectly in two separate elections in Pennsylvania in the last 5 years. The voting machines arrived with 40% not having been calibrated and voters complained the machine was not selecting their choices correctly.
Suffolk County could get a system that experts say is more secure and more accurate for less than half the money.
Please vote NO on resolution 1026.
I'm horrified that you are going to waste tens of millions of dollars of tax payer money on a voting system that experts say is outright "bad".

My name is ________ & I live in ___________. People around the country have good reason to care how you vote because Suffolk County is a swing county that could affect who controls Congress.
On top of having a design the experts say is insecure, the ExpressVote XL has also contributed to lines to vote as long as 6 hours. A hand-marked paper ballot system can serve almost ten times more voters. Studies show it's far faster.
Why not stick with a hand-marked paper ballot system and use touchscreens for voters who need them? That's the system Suffolk County has now, it's faster and it's what experts recommend. Lets' keep it!
I hope you will vote no on resolution 1026.
Thank you.
I am so upset that you are thinking of spending 34.8 million dollars on a voting system when there is a voting system that experts say is more accurate and more secure available for 15 million dollars. What is the point of cutting the federal budget when counties can waste our tax payer dollars like this?
Furthermore, there is no way for voters to check if their vote has been recorded accurately because the machine encodes the vote in a barcode.
That makes it easy for the machine to make undetected mistakes or even worse, be hacked without anyone catching it.
NO on resolution 1026.
Thank you very much.
Hi.
Are you aware that the ExpressVote XL uses blank paper instead of ballots? This makes me very worried. It will be much easier to cheat in my opinion with blank paper instead of pre-printed ballots.
How will voters check that their votes are being recorded accurately when the machine counts a barcode, not the text that it prints for the voter.
I don't have any confidence in a system like this and I'm shocked and upset that you are considering it.
Please do not put our elections at risk. Suffolk County has swing congressional districts that could decide who controls the House. Please take this responsibility seriously.
You must vote no on resolution 1026.
