As part of our #CountTheVote Initiative, SMART Elections is undertaking a citizen journalism project to help the public have a better sense of what happens at the Iowa Caucus.
In collaboration with an international election observer, we have created a set of questions for caucus-goers to answer. Participants are being asked to answer the questions, to write a brief summary of their experience, and email it to us immediately following the caucus.
We welcome supporters of all candidates, as well as those who are undecided. We will publish your write-up along with any photos or videos that you submit on our website.

Send us an email with IOWA CAUCUS in the subject line, so we know that you are on board.
Send to contact@SMARTelections.us
Tell us:
1) Your 1st choice candidate
2) Your precinct
3) Your county
Here are the questions we'd like you to answer.
By sending us this information and any visual media you give us permission to publish all items, except your contact information, on our website, and you give the public and the media permission to publish them as well.
We will not publish your email or phone number.
We will give your contact info to media outlets, if they wish to follow up for more information - unless you tell us not to. We will respect your instructions.
If you are planning to participate in the project, please let us know now - as it helps us track if we have representation from all candidates.
But even if you have not signed up in advance, feel free to answer the questions and send your account after the caucus. We welcome all participants!
